Bus Update – Fall Term

August 12th, 2020  

Kingston, ON – Last night, Kingston Transit approved a temporary student bus pass option at Kingston City Council to allow for Queen’s Students to access public transit for the Fall Term at a reduced rate.  

The AMS is pleased to announce the temporary bus pass will be available for all eligible Queen’s students for $119. The pass will operate from September 1, 2020 until January 3, 2021. This fee will be paid to the City of Kingston online and the bus pass will be accessed through an app available for smartphones.  

Students who wish to obtain a bus pass or learn more about the program can visit the Kingston Transit student page.

The page detailing information on behalf of the City will be finalized on August 24^th, allowing for students to purchase the pass starting at that time. To view the City’s press release click here.

The AMS will implement a bursary to increase accessibility of the student bus pass. All AMS and SGPS members who have purchased a bus pass will be able to access the bursary. Please stay tuned for more information. 

The AMS will always prioritize providing safe and accessible public transit to those who need it.
